The characters in this scene

The screens that follow are taken from the original CD ROM on Shakespeare's Life and Times, and represent a possible sequence in Hamlet where the Ghost enters from the trap. The sequence will be rewritten to use the animation potential of the Internet as funds become avaliable.

The reconstruction that follows is of Act 1, scenes 4 to 5, when Hamlet, Horatio, and Marcellus see the Ghost.

The costumes suggested in these figures are conventionally Elizabethan (as is the contemporary drawing of Titus Andronicus). Horatio is shown as a rather well-padded semi-ecclesiastical figure; as a scholar he would have been training for the church.
